My very first Hyrox

Hyrox Cape Town. Open solo. 50 to 54 year old women.

It was tough, as expected, but my mind was strong. I have learnt new tools to keep me calm, grounded, focused and in the zone. Thanks Dr Roddy Carter and Tracey Clark for helping master my thoughts.
The sled pull was the toughest. I lost time on this station. I am now not sure if Father Christmas will still want me to pull his sleigh. I may have to try my luck (in more ways than one) with an elf.
The burpee broad jumps were also tough.
The easiest was the farmers carry. I give thanks to my teenage son for allowing me to carry all the groceries, school bags and cricket bag, all the time. It is a great sacrifice on his part.
In the end I came 23rd in the women (all ages). There were 147 women. And 2nd in my age group. There were 8 women.
I refuse to let age get in my way. I will train better and come back stronger. The other 2 ladies in my category were not at the prize giving. I can only assume that they were out drinking, dancing and hitting the night clubs. As we do in our fifties. The younger women were all probably getting massages and refueling.
In case you were wondering. I didn't vomit on my nice, new Hannele Steyn socks. I was tempted to pee on my old running shoes in the hope of getting a sponsored pair of PUMA shoes . I didn't though ( pee or get new shoes). Although my socks did get very sweaty!
I have to take my son to meet his mates at the mall today. It's a teenage thing I get to walk 20m behind them. I am going to wear my socks, proudly emblasing ILoveBoobies Charity. I will carry all the bags and maybe add in some lunges and an occasional burpee. If all goes well, I will never be asked to take them to the mall again.
As Arnold said: I will be back! I am falling in love with hyrox.
Ps. PUMA Running I need new shoes. Let me not be greedy. New shoes for all women!
Thanks for the support.
